If I understand what you're after (at least this is what I'm after!) it's like the AAS Strum VST does it.
In Playmode = Keyboard, you play one or more notes in the middle range, and it sets the chord but doesn't play anything. You'd activate the chord by strumming the Strumming keys. And you could power chord, up or down stroke, finger pick or mute strum. It sounds amazing!
I'm trying to do exactly this with this VST, on my Chorda. But I'd need to be able to redefine how the strumming key works. I plan to do some digging and see if anyone's hacked a way to do this. If I could simple change it to play the same 6 notes, in a different key range than the frets, and not change based on the current fretted note, this would work!
I just joined this forum to start digging. Maybe this can be done by editing a patch file.

Is it possible to set up chord mode so that when you press a pad it doesn't play the chord, but just selects the chord so that it can be played by strumming the bridge pads? Essentially like a guitar.
