Note: If you have an Orba (original) and it's unresponsive, check out the DFU article for Orba 1.
Orba 2 may seem unresponsive if it's waiting for a firmware update. You will likely see a ring of blue and green lights around the surface.
If your Orba 2 gets stuck in this mode with the blue and green lights, try the following:
- Connect your Orba to your computer via USB and turn it on
- Open the Artiphon Connect app.
- Make sure that you have the most up-to-date version of the Artiphon Connect app. If you're not sure, you can check here: https://artiphon.com/pages/artiphon-connect-download
- Make sure that it's set to USB connection and not Bluetooth.
- In your computer (outside of the app), you should see a driver location called "ORBA2UPDATE" that's currently open. This would be in the same place as if you'd connect an external hard drive or other device to your computer.
- Attached is a folder with the most current firmware for Orba 2. Unzip it and drag only the .bin file into the ORBA2UPDATE drive. This should force your Orba 2 into a firmware update to get it fixed.
If this doesn't work, The following steps should revive it.
Try is a hard reset.
- Reconnect Orba 2 to your Mac or Windows computer via the included USB-C cable
- Press and hold the *Power* button and *Volume Down (-)* button simultaneously for 15 seconds (you won’t see any visual feedback from Orba). This forces the Orba to power off.
- Press and hold the *Power* button on its own for 5 seconds (again, you won’t see visual feedback from Orba). This ensures that Orba 2 is powered back on.
If that doesn't revive Orba 2, try reinstalling your firmware. Here are the instructions:
- Reconnect Orba 2 to your Mac or Windows computer via the included USB-C cable
- Open the Orba 2 desktop app and go to the settings page
- Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking on the firmware numbers
