I have been a huge fan of the Artiphon Instrument 1. I wasn't with the initial kickstarter, but happily purchased (and patiently waited for) a preorder.
When it came, it was phenomenal. It has so much expressive capability and versatility. I can come up with a different play style for any sound I constructed, blending both the sonic synthesis and it's performance seamlessly.
That being said, I was absolutely shocked to see that the I1 was discontinued. What happened? And honestly, I'm worried that if anything happens to mine, I won't be able to get a replacement. I guess on that same note, is there another highly-versatile MPE compatible controller out there? I saw the Chorda, which looks cool, but doesn't have the same string-component that I love having.
